About Fatema Harianawala

Fatema Harianawala, LPC, NCC, RPT

Parenting doesn't come with a manual, and neither does life. Whether you are a parent struggling with a child whose behavior has suddenly changed, a teenager who no longer talks to you, constant power struggles at home, anxiety that seems to control your child's life, or simply feeling like you've lost the connection you once had with your son or daughter—you don't have to navigate it alone.

Many parents come to therapy feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do next. You may have tried everything you know, yet your child continues to struggle with anxiety, anger, defiance, low self-esteem, bullying, peer pressure, emotional outbursts, or difficulty making friends. Perhaps your teen has withdrawn, refuses to communicate, or

every conversation turns into an argument. My goal is to help you better understand what your child is experiencing while providing practical strategies that strengthen your confidence as a parent and restore connection within your family.

Perhaps, you are seeking therapy for yourself. You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to face it alone. Therapy offers a safe place to slow down, process life's challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

With almost 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of helping children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigate life's most difficult challenges. My multicultural background and life experiences have given me a deep appreciation for diversity and allow me to connect with individuals and families from many different cultures, identities, and backgrounds.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Certified Anger Management Specialist, and Trauma Specialist. My approach is warm, collaborative, compassionate, and evidence- based. Every individual, child, and family is unique, and I tailor treatment to meet your specific needs and goals.

I utilize evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Structural Family Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, your teenager, or your family, my goal is to help you find hope, healing, and lasting change. Together, we can build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, improve relationships, and develop the tools needed to navigate life's challenges. You don't have to figure it all out on your own—I am here to support you every step of the way.
