About EJ Madigan

EJ Madigan, MA

Is your child struggling with anxiety, overwhelming emotions, or experiences they don't yet have the words to express? Are you looking for a supportive space where your child can build confidence, process difficult experiences, and develop healthy coping skills through play and creativity?

As mental health awareness continues to grow and the stigma surrounding seeking support continues to decrease, EJ is passionate about advocating for children, adolescents, and families navigating mental health challenges. Her goal as a future licensed counselor is to create an empowering environment where children feel heard, understood, and encouraged to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.

EJ earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Kennesaw State University in 2023 and recently completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Agnes Scott College. She is currently working toward full licensure and provides counseling services under clinical supervision.EJ is dedicated to working with children and adolescents, helping them navigate the challenges, transitions, and life experiences that can feel overwhelming during critical stages of development. She has experience supporting children who have experienced trauma, struggle with anxiety, and have neurodivergent needs, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She also has experience helping children gradually face fears and reduce anxiety through exposure-based interventions, tailoring treatment to each child's individual needs and developmental level.

EJ recognizes the profound importance of mental health and believes in the healing power of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. She incorporates techniques from Child-Centered Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy to help children better understand themselves and their emotions. Through play, creativity, and compassionate guidance, she helps children develop emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, build resilience, and discover healthy ways to express what words alone may not be able to communicate. EJ is committed to walking alongside children and their families as they work towards greater emotional well-being, helping each child feel empowered to thrive both now and in the future.
