About Stephanie Smith
Stephanie Smith, LPC, CCTP, NCC
As a therapist, I understand that seeking support for your child or teen can be an emotional and sometimes difficult decision. Whether you're concerned about your child’s behavior, emotional well-being, or how they’re coping with life changes, you want to know they’re in safe, capable hands — and I’m here to support both them and you through this journey.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, using developmentally appropriate and evidence-based approaches to help them navigate a wide range of challenges. These include anxiety, anger, depression, bullying, family transitions, low self-esteem, grief and loss, and more.
For younger clients, I incorporate play therapy and art therapy techniques to help them express themselves and process emotions in a safe, creative, and nonverbal way. Through play and art, children often find ways to communicate what they may not yet have words for — allowing us to explore their inner world and build emotional resilience in a gentle, supportive manner.
For teens and young adults, I offer a space where they can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Whether we're using talk therapy, creative expression, or skill-building strategies, my goal is to help them grow in confidence and feel more in control of their emotions and experiences.
I’m especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ youth who may be struggling with identity development, self-esteem, peer relationships, or feeling misunderstood. I provide an affirming, inclusive environment where your child or teen can feel seen, supported, and safe. I also proudly serve clients from BIPOC communities and believe deeply in advocacy, cultural humility, and honoring each client's unique story.
My therapeutic approach is warm, relational, and grounded in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Strengths-Based Therapy. I tailor treatment to each client’s developmental stage and emotional needs, while also working collaboratively with families to support meaningful, lasting change.
If you're wondering whether therapy might be the right fit for your child, teen, or young adult, I’d be happy to speak with you. Feel free to reach out for a free consultation — together, we can explore how I can support your family’s path forward.
